Marietta College’s Capstone Exhibition runs through May 2

MARIETTA — The Art & Design Capstone Exhibition, an exhibition featuring the work of the graduating seniors in the Marietta College Art Department, will be on display through May 2 in the Atrium Gallery located on the third floor of the Hermann Fine Arts Center.

The seven featured senior artists are: Ian Darling of Colorado Springs, Colo., Amber Gardner of Belpre, Kat Hendrickson of Belpre, Abigail Litman of Marietta, Leah Seaman of Philippi, W.V a., Cayleigh Walton of Walker and Peng Wang of Chengdu, China. They worked with a variety of media on a capstone theme of their choosing.

Among themes are global warming, “Fight the Virus, Not Asian People,” “Everyday Super Heroes Wear Masks,” the whitewashing of Christianity, childhood memories and botanical interests.

The exhibition is open with regular gallery hours from 9-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Hermann Fine Arts Center is handicapped accessible.

With Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine’s order and the Marietta College mask policy, all guests are required to wear a mask to visit the exhibition and while on campus.
