Glenville State College tees up golf tourney
GLENVILLE — The Glenville State College Land Resources Department’s 22nd annual golf tournament will be held at 9 a.m. April 23 at the Glenville Golf Club.
Proceeds from the scramble will enhance student learning within the college’s natural resource management programs. Funds will help provide extra tools and equipment for students studying environmental science, forestry, land surveying, energy and land management, wildlife management and other natural resource management programs.
Among prizes are $10,000 for a hole-in-one, a Stihl homeowner’s package of a chainsaw, blower and trimmer, and a closest second-shot prize of a Stihl chainsaw.
The top three teams will receive cash awards of $400 for first, $300 for second and $200 for third. Prizes also will be awarded for closest to pin, long driver champion, longest putt and longest drive.
Entry fee is $80 per person or $320 per team of four. The entry fee includes green fees, cart rental and lunch.
Organizations and individuals also can sponsor a hole starting at $100. Sponsors will be recognized in a Department of Land Resources newsletter.
