Britain to perform as part of Artsbridge series

Britain, a rock band from Parkersburg that plays music from the 1960 and 1970s, is the featured act in the final concert at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Artsbridge Virtual Winter Music Series. PARKERSBURG — Britain will be the keynote act in the final Artsbridge Virtual Winter Music Series at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The local band will perform live on the Artsbridge Facebook page in a show sponsored by WesBanco.

Britain performs rock and roll music from the 1960s and 1970s. Its repertoire consists of songs made famous by the Beatles, Beach Boys, Rolling Stones, Zombies and other artists from that time period.

Members of the band are dedicated musicians. Dan Staats is on bass and vocals. Preston P.T. Dabbs plays guitar and sings vocals. John Jobes is on drums. John Gallagher is on guitar, keyboard and vocals. The four have played in a variety of bands which date back to the 70’s and beyond.

Donations can be made by clicking the donate button at the bottom of the screen during the performance to support Artsbridge and continue to bring the arts to the Mid-Ohio Valley.
