Parkersburg Walmart temporarily closing for deep clean

1 min read

PARKERSBURG – Walmart is temporarily closing its supercenter at 2900 Pike St., Parkersburg, today and Tuesday for the building to be cleaned and sanitized.

The store is scheduled to reopen at 7 a.m. Wednesday to provide associates time to restock shelves.

The move is part of a company initiative to allow a third party to thoroughly clean and sanitize the building.

“Everything we’re doing is for the well-being of our associates and customers, and in consideration of guidance by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and health experts,” Rebecca Thomason, senior manager of corporate communications, said in an emailed statement. “When the store reopens Wednesday, we will continue conducting associate health screens and temperature checks, and all associates will be provided with facemasks and gloves.”
