PARKERSBURG — “The Hound of the Baskervilles” will be presented in a virtual show 7 p.m. July 18 and 3 p.m. July 19 by the Actors Guild of Parkersburg on its Facebook page.

The cast will be at the playhouse on Market Street, but a live audience will not be in attendance due to ongoing concerns with the pandemic. The show can be viewed by accessing the Guild’s Facebook page.

Rather than selling tickets for the production, viewers are asked to make a donation through the Guild website at https://www.actors-guild.com.

The play is the classic Sherlock Holmes mystery set at Baskervilles Hall and involves the legend of a phantom hound and the unusual death of Lord Baskerville. The script is by Jon Jory and is produced by special arrangement with Playscripts Inc.

“It has been fun putting this production together,” said director David Rexroad. “We have been rehearsing on Zoom on our computers which is a whole new experience. We all are looking forward to actually getting together in the theater to perform, even though we know that it will be much different using social distancing.”

“The live sound effects performed by our foley artist are also a great addition to the entertainment experience for our audience,” he said.
