PARKERSBURG — The Smoot Theatre will hold its annual Smoot Spring Sing at 4 p.m. Saturday at the theater in downtown Parkersburg.

The free event is sponsored by The Smoot Theatre Children’s Chorus and is for area young singers who have received invitations from their music teachers or from a current STCC member.

Area music teachers were asked by the STCC staff to select their school’s best singers and give them the opportunity to sing on the Smoot stage with the children’s vocal ensemble. The 44 invited guest singers will join the STCC members for a day of fun musical activities, learning vocal techniques and new songs, which they will then perform at 4 p.m. the free concert open to the public.

Also participating in the day’s activities and concert will be The Smoot Theatre Boys Ensemble, The Smoot Theatre Girls Ensemble, and The Smoot Theatre Barbershop Quartet.

The vocal ensembles are under the direction of Barbara Full, Marsha Parsons, Janet Blessing, Cathy Martin and Felice Jorgeson.
