PARKERSBURG — The Domi Williams art exhibit will be on display during February at WesBanco Bank, 415 Market St.

It may be viewed during regular business hours of Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Williams has been painting for over 40 years in several different mediums, but for the past 30 years she has been painting with acrylic on canvas. She develops her paintings from loose thumbnail sketches, then draws them on canvas where a thin layer of acrylic is worked in to establish shapes and composition.

She works with brushes and painting knives using Italian paints. Williams only uses six colors plus white to create her paintings. She has worked in pastels, watercolors, pen and ink and worked as a sculptress in hard woods and stone. Her love of painting began at the age of 8 when she was given a box of oil paints in Casablanca.

Williams received Best of Show at the 71st Allied Artists of WV Juried Exhibition in 2018; exhibited at the 21st Biennial WV Juried Exhibition; Best of West Virginia in 2018 and 2019 at Tamarack, Carnegie Hall Juried Exhibition and Parkersburg Art Center’s “Wild at Art” where she won First Place in Theme Category.
