BELPRE -- Hundreds of Santa dolls will be on display noon-5 p.m. Sunday in the Santa House exhibit in the Thomas Annex of the Belpre Farmers Castle Museum and Education Center, 509 Ridge St.
"These are Santa Clauses from my personal collection. I've been collecting for about 50 years and have around 300," Charlotte Powell, museum curator and president of the Belpre Historical Society, said. "They are all dressed differently. Some I bought, others were gifts from family and friends. I thought bringing them out and displaying them so everyone could enjoy them would make a good fundraiser for the museum,"
The exhibit is a fundraiser for the museum. The dolls on display are not for sale.
Tickets will be sold at the door. Advance tickets will not be sold. Admission to the Santa House is $5 for adults and free for children 12 and under, who must be accompanied by an adult.
If the first-time event is successful, the museum may try another event before Christmas, Powell said. All proceeds from the Santa House will help the museum pay its winter utility bills.
Homemade candy also will be for sale with proceeds going to the museum. Tours of the Thomas Annex will be available on Sunday.
