PARKERSBURG — Isaac Weaver and Vic Lombard will join former teammates Scott Davis and Al Hammell as the latest members of the 1999 state championship football team in the Parkersburg High School Football Hall of Fame Friday night.
Weaver and Lombard will be inducted before the PHS-Huntington High football game at Stadium Field. Weaver was named Most Valuable Player of the state championship game and Lombard anchored a line that helped produce 498 points and a 14-0 season, the hall of fame committee said.
Weaver (1997-99) was not only Big Red team captain as a senior but was awarded Most Valuable Player honors in the Bowden Academy quarterback-receiving camp, the state championship game, the BACF All-Star game and the North-South All-Star game.
He led PHS with 28 receptions for 523 yards and six touchdowns while coming up with eight interceptions on defense. In the state championship game he caught two touchdown passes and intercepted Riverside’s last attempt to score, sealing the victory. He was named to the all-state team as a defensive back.
Weaver went to Robert Morris University on a scholarship but transferred to Fairmont State after one year and was a four-year starter there as a free safety.

After college he joined the Army and was deployed to Ramadi, Iraq in 2006-2007. During his military enlistment he was awarded the Army commendation medal, the Army good conduct medal, the national defense service medal, the global war on terrorism service medal, the Iraq campaign medal with campaign star, the Army service ribbon, the overseas service ribbon, combat infantryman badge and completed airborne school.
Currently employed at Mylan Pharmaceuticals and living in Grafton, Weaver and his wife, Megan, have four children, Devin, Destiny, Braden and Sophia.
Lombard (1997-99) was the top lineman on a team which had two 1,000-yard rushers in Davis and Hammell, was a two-time all-conference selection and was named first team all-state defensive tackle as a senior, the hall of fame committee said. He was the fourth-leading tackler on the Big Reds with 73 stops during that perfect 1999 season.
Lombard went on to play football at West Virginia Wesleyan College and was a member of the back-to-back WVIAC championship teams where he was awarded all-conference honors three years in a row, including two years on the first team in 2002 and 2003. He earned national recognition as a member of the All-Region team in 2003. He still holds the tackle for loss record and is tied for third all-time in sacks at Wesleyan.
Lombard lives in Morgantown with wife, Dr. Cara Bryan, and 8-month-old daughter Claire. He has worked for Woodcraft for the last 10 years, has a small media agency and is building a functional cattle farm on their 200-acre ranch that produces grass-fed beef for local restaurants and residents.
