Sherry Wilson Braid, new band crazy about Patsy Cline tributes

PARKERSBURG — Sherry Wilson Braid is happy to be back on stage with the Patsy Cline Band.

Braid, singing as country music singer Patsy Cline, and her band performed June 13 during Artsbridge’s Summer Music in the Park series at City Park.

Braid put together a band for her shows after a previous band disbanded. Before then, she had been performing as Patsy Cline to recorded music.

“It is nice to have the band back,” she said.

On bass is Ken Barton, playing the guitar is J.P. Chandler, on drums is Josh Chandler, pianist is Karen Cox and Mark Doebrich plays the guitar.

Braid is bringing the Patsy Cline show to Belpre’s Civitan Park on Aug. 6, to the Wirt County Fair on Aug. 8, and to the Colonial House in Parkersburg on Sept. 30.

A registered nurse for Wood County Schools, Braid has performed and participated in many performances on stage and as music director at the Actors Guild of Parkersburg. She performed in “Always … Patsy Cline” at the Actors Guild and the Mid-Ohio Valley Players Theater.

She has performed as Patsy Cline hundreds of times in Ohio and West Virginia.
