PARKERSBURG – The Parkersburg Choral Society will present the final performance of its 2015-2016 season at the annual Spring Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, 1001 Juliana St.
The Smoot Theatre Boys Ensemble will participate in the concert.
Admission is free. Donations will be accepted at the door. The PCS receives partial funding from Artsbridge. A reception will follow the concert, during which a donated floral centerpiece will be given to an audience member.
Selections at the concert will include “Where the Earth Meets the Sky,” a set of three works by Z. Randall Stroope, “Amor De Mi Alma,” also by Stroope, “Sing Me to Heaven” by Daniel E. Gawthorp and other works.
On a lighter note, the choir will perform “Four Choral Critters” with music by Christine Donko and words by Ogden Nash.
The Parkersburg Choral Society is always looking for good singers who read music and enjoy choral singing. In particular, there is a need for altos. Appointments can be made for a simple audition by calling the director, Luke Zyla, at 304-422-6117 or by email at lzyla@suddenlink.net.
