PARKERSBURG - The final downtown Meet Me on Market event of 2026 is set for 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, bringing together local businesses, artists, organizations and community groups.
Most activities this month are happening between Sixth and Ninth streets. Several businesses and events will have extended hours.
The Simply Kin Market - a pop-up makers market featuring regional creatives and entrepreneurs - will return to Highmark Plaza, along with the SIPS Coffee Truck. First Chapter Bookstore will welcome local author Joshua Smith.
The Humane Society of Parkersburg will bring adoptable dogs downtown.
The Market at the Art Center will offer a free raffle with prizes including a gift bundle from Enhanced Wellness, an hour of massage with licensed therapist Maria El-Bataineh and a bundle of art supplies. There will also be artists giving demonstrations throughout the evening.
The Parkersburg Art Center galleries will celebrate the opening and awards for three new exhibits: the Allied Artists of West Virginia 72nd Juried Exhibit, the ReStore ReDesign Exhibit and Sale, and the Ki No Kaze Bonsai Tree Show.
Visitors can take PODA beverages from participating locations with them as they make their way through downtown.
At the Wood County Society, visitors can watch Darkside Robotics demonstrations, join artist Meg Marshall in creating a collaborative sensory wall painting or stop by the Happy Ears Audiology mobile office for a free hearing screening. The Actors Guild will feature Sherry Braid as Patsy Cline, and two food trucks will be set up in the lot. The Guild will also open its production of "Clue" that evening.
Also at Eighth and Market streets, Artbeat Studio volunteers will offer a small make-and-take ghost hanger.
Earlier in the day, Discovery World on Market will offer $5 admission, with Izzy’s Kids Club taking place that evening.
Restaurants, food trucks and other businesses downtown depend on local shoppers and visitors, and organizers in a press release encouraged people to continue making downtown Parkersburg part of their regular plans.
The series will return next spring, with third Fridays planned from May through September.
