Belpre Chamber of Commerce slates 88th dinner

BELPRE – The 88th annual dinner of the Belpre Area Chamber of Commerce has been announced and is titled Surviving Business Challenges and will include a panel discussion.
The dinner will be held Oct. 22 at the Grand Pointe Conference and Reception Center, 1500 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, where a time to socialize will be held 5:30-6 p.m. with seating for dinner at 6:15 p.m.

Following the plated meal, the Tribal Council-style panel discussion will be moderated by Chuck Helmick of 1st Mutual Bank and will include four local business owners or non-profit managers discussing their experiences in meeting the challenges of clients, customers, marketing and staffing, among others. The panel includes: Shelene Shrewsbury, executive director of Consumer Credit Counseling Services of the Mid-Ohio Valley; Keith McClung, owner of Crown Decor and Gifts; Marvin Edwards, owner of Maka Mia Pizza of Vienna; and Pam Creel, owner of Wine Down on Market.
The dinner and celebration is the culmination of a great year and focuses on chamber and member accomplishments, Kecia Barr, marketing director at First Settlement Physical Therapy and president of the chamber Board of Directors said.
"This year's 'Survivor'-themed dinner is a fun reminder that business success often comes down to the same qualities: resilience, strategy, and teamwork," she said. "We're excited to celebrate the businesses and individuals who continue to outwit challenges, outplay obstacles, and outlast through change."
Features of the event include a video at the 5:30 p.m. social hour spotlighting Platinum and Platinum Plus sponsors and other supporters.
Stand-out businesses, individuals and organizations will be placed in the spotlight at the Night of Awards. Awards will include Belpre Citizen of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Business of the Year, Spirit of the Chamber and Spirit of the Community.
Social Time appetizers and decor will be sponsored by Platinum Plus sponsors. Additional sponsors, board members and dignitaries will be spotlighted throughout the evening.
The chamber Business Marketing Funding winner also will be announced.
