PARKERSBURG - Downtown PKB will conduct a search for its next executive director following the resignation of Amanda Stevens this week.

The organization announced Stevens' departure in a press release this week and thanked her for her service, dedication and contributions to the downtown community.

"Mandy has made meaningful contributions to our organization and to the continued growth and vitality of our downtown," said Marvin Edwards, president of the Downtown PKB board. "We appreciate her service and wish her all the best in her future endeavors."

Stevens spent five years with Downtown PKB, which works to promote and preserve the city's central business district.

"I would like to say thank you to everyone who supports downtown Parkersburg," Stevens said Friday. "Big things are happening because of you. I've enjoyed my tenure with Downtown PKB, and I look forward to watching it continue to flourish."

Stevens said she is launching her own business doing social media marketing, Amanda DeBarr Stevens PR.

The release said the Executive Committee of Downtown PKB's board of directors will lead the search for the next executive director, looking to identify someone who can build on its progress and advance its mission and partnerships.

"Downtown PKB remains committed to the continued success and momentum that has taken place over the last 10(-plus) years," Edwards said. "We are confident in the strength of our organization, our board, our community partners (and) stakeholders, and look forward to the future opportunities ahead. We (are) excited to find the right leader to guide Downtown PKB into its next chapter."

In the interim, Downtown PKB will continue its programs, events and partnerships, the release said.
