PARKERSBURG - The WVU Cancer Institute at Camden Clark has received re-accreditation through the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Commission on Cancer (CoC) Accreditation Program.
The national ACS CoC is comprised of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for patients with cancer by setting and raising standards.
CoC accreditation is granted to institutions committed to providing high-quality cancer care by demonstrating compliance with rigorous national standards. Each cancer program must undergo a comprehensive evaluation of its performance and compliance with those standards.
“Camden Clark Medical Center has been an accredited program through the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer since 1996. The recent re-accreditation confirms our continued commitment to rigid quality standards and use of cancer registries to monitor trends and make appropriate adjustments," said Lauren Gillian, Camden Clark Director of Cancer Services. "Our team of dedicated professionals is invested in creating high-quality care and services tailored to each patient's needs through shared decision making with patients and families.
"We continue that support through survivorship after initial treatment is completed."

The CoC accreditation standards supply the structure for providing all patients with a full range of diagnostic, treatment, and supportive services either on-site or by referral, including community-based resources.
