PARKERSBURG — Brent Stull first walked into the Boys & Girls Club of Parkersburg as a child. Decades later, the club alumnus is helping lead the organization where he said he first found a sense of belonging.
Stull was recently named director of facilities and operations for the Boys & Girls Club of Parkersburg, a role that will include overseeing day-to-day operations, supervising leadership staff, handling building maintenance and safety, supporting youth development professionals and helping maintain the club’s facilities.
“The Club has been home to me for decades, and I’m so glad to be able to give back some of the priceless memories, mentors and relationships that I had when I was a kid,” Stull said.
Stull was a club member for three years before later working at the front desk. As a young adult, he went on to lead the Games Room. Over the years, he also handled pool and facility maintenance before moving into his new position.
Boys & Girls Club of Parkersburg CEO Darlene Murphy said Stull’s history with the organization makes him well suited for the role.
“Brent brings a lifetime of passion and a wealth of institutional knowledge of the Club,” Murphy said. “He has decades of experience working with staff and kids, and I can’t wait to see how he will contribute in this role.”
Murphy said Stull also brings long-standing relationships with alumni, former board members and staff.
“The relationship he’s formed with fellow alumni, former board members and staff are truly priceless, and that’s what our Club is all about — bringing the community together to serve the youth of the Mid-Ohio Valley,” Murphy said.
During his first full day back, Stull helped serve lunch, which he said was the highlight of his day.
“I loved it,” Stull said. “Getting to be at the Club full time is rewarding, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to make a difference. My hope is for each member to know they can achieve anything and that they always have a place to call home at the Clubhouse.”
