Free Comic Book Day at local shops on Saturday

MARIETTA – Saturday is Free Comic Book Day, marking the 25th year of the event where comic stores give away free comics to everyone who walks inside.

This year’s selection features a diverse lineup of titles for all ages, from superheroes like Spider-Man, the X-Men, Superman and Batman to pop culture favorites like Minecraft and Transformers and kid-friendly titles including Garfield, My Little Pony, Stitch, Sonic the Hedgehog and more.

Asylum Comics at 212 Third St. in Marietta will once again be participating, as well as hosting a charity food drive for the Tri-County Food Pantry. People can pick up three free comics each, along with one extra for every non-perishable food item or $1 donation to the food pantry.

At Lost Legion Games & Comics, 517 21st St., Vienna, each guest can pick up three free comics from this year’s selection as well as unlimited comics from previous Free Comic Book Day events.
