Registration opens for Nonprofits LEAD annual conference in Marietta

Registration is now open for Marietta College’s Nonprofits LEAD Annual Capacity Building Conference, scheduled for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 13 at the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center.

The conference, held annually for more than a decade, brings together nonprofit leaders, board members, staff, volunteers and community supporters from across the Mid-Ohio Valley. Organizers said the event focuses on professional development and collaboration among nonprofit organizations in Ohio and West Virginia.

Attendees will be able to choose from three workshop sessions offered across six tracks: finance and fundraising, human resources, marketing and networking, information technology, board governance and advocacy, and operations and programming. The format allows participants to build individualized schedules based on their organization’s needs.

The event will feature a keynote address from Michelle M. Foster, president and chief executive officer of The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation. A vendor fair, now in its second year, will include 37 nonprofit and for-profit organizations.

Additional activities are scheduled throughout the day, including networking opportunities, live music, catered meals and a closing ice cream social.

“I am excited to welcome attendees to our annual capacity building conference at Marietta College,” said Shannan Tschopp, director of the Nonprofits LEAD program. “We look forward to a day of learning and connection, right here at home.”

Early registration is $70 per person through April 15 and increases to $80 afterward. The fee includes meals, snacks and access to all sessions. Limited financial assistance is available through local sponsors. Marietta College students, faculty and staff may attend at no cost.

Registration is open through May 1 or until capacity is reached. More information is available at marietta.givepulse.com or by emailing nonprofitslead@marietta.edu.

Starting at $2.99/week.
