West Virginia sees price of gasoline rise a penny

PITTSBURGH — While the national average price for a gallon of gasoline decreased last week, the average in West Virginia was one cent higher, according to the AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.
Across the country the average price was at $3.13, a decrease of two cents per gallon. In West Virginia the average price was $2.959, a one cent increase.
According to the AAA, the average price in Parkersburg is $2.917, 62 cents higher than the state average.
Other prices in the state were:
* Bridgeport: $3.070
* Clarksburg: $3.082
* Huntington: $2.946
* Martinsburg: $2.948
* Morgantown: $2.800
* Weirton: $2.977
* Wheeling: $2.896
Fall is officially here bringing lower gas prices and winter-blend gasoline which is cheaper to produce. The Environmental Protection Agency requires retailers to start selling winter-blend gasoline on Sept. 16.
According to the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gasoline demand increased from 8.81 million barrels per day last week to 8.95 million.
The national average per kilowatt hour of electricity at a public EV charging station stayed the same this past week at 36 cents.
