Meat and Greet: Wood County 4-H hopes MOV residents make pit stop at ox roast fundraiser

By Staff Reports 1 min read

MINERAL WELLS -- Wood County 4-H will be holding its annual Camp Ox Roast Fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 4-8 p.m. at the Wood County 4-H Camp.

Guests can enjoy a hearty homestyle meal featuring roast beef, potatoes, cole slaw, green beans, a roll, dessert, and drink for $15 per dinner. For those looking for a lighter option, a sandwich-only meal is available for $8.

All proceeds support the Wood County 4-H Camp and its programs, which provide youth with hands-on learning, leadership opportunities, and camp experiences. The camp is managed by an all-volunteer board of community members representing 4-H, CEOS (Community Educational Outreach Service), and Farm Bureau.

"This is one of our favorite traditions," said Larry Bargeloh, 4-H Camp Board President. "Not only is it a delicious meal, but it also directly supports the youth in our county."

Eat-in and to-go meals are available. For more information, contact the WVU Extension Service - Wood County office at 304-424-1960 or call the Wood County 4-H Camp at 681-254-8164.
