Fertile Soil: Green’s Supply Depot opening new store at former Kmart in Parkersburg

PARKERSBURG — Green’s Supply Depot will have a grand opening for its new superstore location on Division Street in south Parkersburg at noon on Tuesday, July 1.

According to a press release from the business, the 72,000-square-foot store, in the former south Parkersburg Kmart facility at 1050 Division St., will offer products including outdoor power tools and equipment; guns; fishing and hunting gear; lawn, garden and household supplies; animal feed and pet supplies; lumber; hardware; tractors; and more.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to bring Green’s Supply Depot to the Parkersburg community,” the management team said in the release. “From tractors for the farm to bows, guns, fishing rods and everything you need for your outdoor adventures — or even supplies for your lawn, home, or contracting business — we’re here to be your go-to spot. We’re excited to serve this community and be a part of your everyday lives.”

The grand opening celebration will include music and food trucks, vendor tents, giveaways and exclusive discounts, as well as family-friendly activities like a bounce house and face painting.

Green’s began in 1963 when Earl and Shirley Green opened Green’s Feed and Seed in Charleston. Today, Green’s operates in multiple locations, including Charleston, Big Chimney, Ripley and now Parkersburg, with plans for further expansion across the tri-state area.

The company operates other businesses under the Green’s name, including Green’s Building Products and Green’s Outdoor Creations in Charleston and Green’s Equipment Group in Charleston, Parkersburg, Ripley, Sissonville, Gallipolis and Pomeroy.
