VIENNA — The Marietta Big Lots is set to reopen June 5, but there are no plans for the former Vienna location to follow suit.
A spokesperson for Variety Wholesalers, the company that acquired 219 Big Lots stores out of bankruptcy, said a soft opening for the store on South Seventh Street in Marietta is scheduled for June 5, part of the fourth wave of stores reopening then. The third wave of reopenings was set to take place Thursday.
Stores in Bridgeport, Charleston, Elkins, Fairmont, Martinsburg, Beckley, Oak Hill and Princeton were included in waves two and three. The Vienna store on the Grand Central Mall property is not on the list.
“At this time, we do not have plans to reopen the Vienna, WV location, but we are constantly evaluating opportunities for expansion,” the spokesperson said via email.
It was not immediately clear if Variety Wholesalers had acquired the Vienna location. However, the list of openings provided by the company includes 219 stores, the initial number it was reported they had acquired.
