MARIETTA — Peoples Bank Theatre will celebrate the addition of its new digital marquee at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
The Valentine’s Day ribbon cutting will take place outside the theater at 224 Putnam St., thanks to the support from Peoples Bank. The event is open to everyone.
Representatives from the Peoples Bank Theatre management team and Peoples Bank will comment.
Country music star Chris Janson will perform at 8 p.m. at the theater following the ceremony.
The digital marquee is the third recent addition at the historic theater. The marquee joins the new knife board and a new, state-of-the-art JBL VTX sound system. These recent additions fortify the theatre’s commitment to being the Mid-Ohio Valley’s premier entertainment destination since 1919, according to Miranda Duty, general manager of the theater,.
“We are excited for the theatre to have a more recognizable footprint thanks to the generosity from Peoples Bank,” Duty said. “With the love and support from the community we will continue to thrive and bring amazing things to Marietta.”
The knife board and the marquee sign would not have been possible without Peoples Bank, a long time supporter of the theater that played a large part in reopening the facility in 2016.
“We are committed to the theatre for many years to come and are excited to further enhance this historic venue that provides energy to the evenings in downtown Marietta,” said Tyler Wilcox, president and chief executive officer of Peoples Bank.
