PARKERSBURG -- Leavitt Funeral Services and Crematory has appointed Chelsie Fast and Rachael Strong as Funeral Director Apprentices.
"Serving our community with dedication, compassion and care are the core of our unwavering commitment to the families we assist everyday" said Jon Leavitt.
Fast, of Parkersburg, is a graduate of West Virginia University at Parkersburg with an associate and bachelor's degree and is currently attending the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science to obtain her Funeral Director and Embalmer license.
"Chelsie has demonstrated her desire to become more involved with families during their process of losing a loved one. She is exactly what we look for in our employees who help our families find peace in one of life's most stressful situations" said Stephen Leavitt. "We're proud to have Chelsie on our staff to help us serve those in the Mid-Ohio Valley."
Strong has been promoted to Funeral Director Apprentice and has made the most of every opportunity she has been given at Leavitt.
According to Stephen Leavitt, "Rachael began working with us as a part-time intern in 2022 then was hired as a full-time staff member, served as our cremation coordinator and now she has transitioned into her new role as a Funeral Director Apprentice."
He added, "Rachael brings a strong commitment to families ensuring they understand all their suitable options to uniquely celebrate their loved one."
Strong is a Parkersburg native earning her Regents Bachelor of Arts degree from WVUP.
