Finely Tuned Dining: Parkersburg Art Center ready to serve up ‘Tastes and Tunes’ Saturday

PARKERSBURG -- The Parkersburg Art Center will host a "Tastes and Tunes" fundraising event from 7-10 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of Market Street in downtown Parkersburg.
"We are planning an evening of good food, good music and good company," said Jessie Siefert, Managing Director of the Parkersburg Art Center. "This will be the third year for this event, and this event combines the relaxation of a summer evening under the stars with a little fundraising to support our exhibits, public art projects and arts outreach programs."
Online reservations will earn the holder a concert, a full catered meal, yard games, deluxe coffees and teas from Sips Coffee Truck and other non-alcoholic beverages, she said. Valley Catering will offer multiple food stations that include Valley Catering favorites, an Italian station, cheese fry station, vegetarian zone, chocolate-covered strawberries, strawberry shortcake, a mobile popcorn bar and more.
There will be two bands playing throughout the evening. First on stage will be OYO, a group that was "born on the banks of the Ohio River and fed by many influences and tributaries upstream: Americana, folk, bluegrass, old school country and rock 'n' roll." OYO will be followed by Sour Mash String Band performing bluegrass, truegrass and newgrass with a twist of the hillbilly funk.
"We are going to be selling drink/game tickets right inside the gate, so once you have entered and made that purchase, you don't have to deal with money again," said Laurel Slone, PAC Events and Receptions Manager. "Beers from Parkersburg Brewing Company and a selection of wines from WineDown on Market will be available for purchase. Tickets will also be used for a new Drinko-Plinko Game and opportunities to give the Wine Wheel a spin. With both games, everyone's a winner."
Reservations may be made at https://tinyurl.com/2s437j5w. Sales will close Friday, or sooner if the 350-ticket mark is reached, so Valley Catering can load in enough food to feed the crowd. The cost is $35 for a single or $60 for a couple.
With an advanced ticket order will come a free commemorative can koozie.
This fundraiser for the Parkersburg Art Center will happen rain or shine because the PAC is big and can move this whole party indoors if necessary.
