Golden Anniversary: Belpre Christian Academy celebrates 50th year

BELPRE -- Belpre Christian Academy recently celebrated its 50-year anniversary of providing Christian education by hosting a banquet for alumni and friends of the school.
About 160 guests attended the event held at the school.
Graduates from each decade of the school's tenure were in attendance. During the evening past principals, teachers and students spoke on the impact of the school in their lives.
Residents of several states attended event, which lasted several hours.
Belairs Bistro catered the meal which consisted of baked spaghetti, chicken broccoli alfredo and baked zita. Current students decorated the gym and served the meal.
Belpre Christian Academy was founded in 1973 under Pastor Clay Sloan and the Calvary Community Church. Happy Roberts was the first principal and with happy Eric Fullerton is the longest serving at 18 years.
Affiliated with Accelerated Christian Education, the school provides grades K-12 with basketball and volleyball teams. The school exists to be a help to the Christian home and maintains affordable tuition rates.
