PARKERSBURG -- DuPont Delrin and Lubeck Elementary School have inked a new partnership through the Partners in Education program coordinated by the Chamber of Commerce of the Mid-Ohio Valley.
"Lubeck Elementary is honored to enter into this partnership with DuPont Delrin," Lubeck Principal Amber Hardman said. "The ongoing commitment of our staff, families, and business partners assists us in providing meaningful and engaging opportunities for students. Community support helps to make our school great."
Lubeck Elementary is one of 16 elementary schools in Wood County. DuPont Delrin is a leading plastics manufacturer in Wood County.
The partnership is the 14th for the school year. Lubeck Elementary also is partners with Williamstown Bank and Northwest Pipe Co.
"The DuPont Delrin employees look forward to a long-standing relationship with Lubeck Elementary and are anxious to begin working with the staff, the teachers, and the students at the school," said Brian Delozier, representing DuPont Delrin.
The Chamber organized the ceremonial signing at Lubeck Elementary on Wednesday, an event attended by several key stakeholders.
They were: Chamber CEO Jill Parsons; Hardman; Craig Phillips, Finishing Area manager at Dupont Delrin; Jacob Beha, regional supply chain planner at Dupont Delrin; and Justin Hartshorn, director of elementary schools for Wood County Schools.
Special recognition was given to Delozier, who was vital in advocating for and establishing the partnership.
"We're delighted to facilitate this partnership between DuPont Delrin and Lubeck Elementary School," Parsons said. "This signing ceremony marks our 14th new partnership this school year, reflecting our commitment to enhancing education through community involvement. These partnerships benefit schools, businesses, employees, students, and the broader community. We're excited for what these 14 new partnerships mean for our local schools."
