PARKERSBURG -- The WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center will commemorate its 125th anniversary today during National Hospital Week.
To mark the occasion, employees and community members are invited to attend the Camden Clark 125th Celebration Ceremony at 1:30 p.m. today at the Camden Clark South Tower Cafeteria, located at 800 Garfield Ave., next to the Emergency Department.
Hospital leadership, state and local officials and other guests will highlight Camden Clark's 125-year legacy of service during the event program, according to a press release from Camden Clark.
In addition to the formal celebration ceremony, guests are invited to view the life-sized 85-foot historic mural installation connecting the hospital's North and South Towers. The foundation of the historic wall installation was derived from the book, "A Legacy of Caring," written by Jean Young, RN in 1993 for Camden Clark's 95th anniversary. Young was a former nurse at Camden Clark with a career spanning more than 40 years.
Camden Clark Medical Center is a 302 licensed-bed, not-for-profit, acute care facility that serves the Mid-Ohio Valley; an 11-county region of 250,000 residents of West Virginia and Southeastern Ohio.
