Landers returns to Highmark West Virginia
PARKERSBURG — Highmark West Virginia has named a new president of West Virginia Highmark Health Options.
Jason Landers will be responsible for the overall performance of the Medicaid plan, including quality of care and service. Additionally, he is accountable for establishing and maintaining strategic relationships within West Virginia, including key provider partners, vendors, and the community at-large.
The company said it is laying the foundation to enter the West Virginia Medicaid market with Blue Cross and Blue Shield-branded health plans.
Landers is re-joining Highmark after serving as an executive at another health insurer.
His previous role with Highmark was vice president of the West Virginia Medicaid Market. In this role, he was responsible for the growth and overall success of the provider-owned and Highmark-managed Medicaid Managed Care Organization.
Landers initially joined the Highmark West Virginia team in 2012 as the director of Strategic Provider Initiatives.
“We are thrilled to have Jason back at Highmark,” said Jim Fawcett, president, Highmark West Virginia. “His leadership and expertise in government markets will be invaluable as our industry sees more and more membership move to state- and federal-funded insurance programs. Jason will help ensure that Highmark remains a leader in enrolling and serving members in these programs.”
Before joining Highmark, Landers spent 12 years working at Camden Clark Medical Center and Camden Clark Physicians Corporation in a variety of roles, including managed care, physician recruitment and relations, business development, and practice administration. Prior to that, he worked for Acordia and PrimeONE.
Landers has an MBA from West Virginia University and a BS in Business Management from West Virginia Institute of Technology. He and his wife Mary live in Vienna.
