PARKERSBURG — Men’s Health of Parkersburg, a male-only concierge medical practice, is commemorating a year in business by hosting an open-house anniversary celebration on July 7.

Dr. Douglas Brooks, physician and owner, chose to focus on men’s health because he felt there was a lack of health care options in the area and the medical field for men in general.

MHOP is a full men’s health and wellness medical center that offers evidence-based medical care, concierge services and male health products for patients.

“I think patients would definitely describe it as convenient and I feel like, if a patient experiences one of our three pillars of what we offer and what we stand by, which is same day availability, 60 minute visits and direct access to my cell phone on evenings and weekends,” he said. “If they experience it one time, I think they’re patients for life for us, because they have never experienced it anywhere else.”

The open-house will feature food, drinks, gift bags and give the chance for males in the area to meet partners, Brooks and Billy Cottrill, manager, and learn more about the concierge practice. It will be held on Thursday, July 7, from 4-10 p.m. at the Men’s Health of Parkersburg Office at 1512 36th St. in Parkersburg.

“I want people to see the practice,” he said. “I want people to be able to talk to us about what we’re doing.”

Brooks said over the past year MHOP has gained over 200 patients and plans to accept 200 more.
