BELPRE -- The Belpre Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its July Jaunt Shop Local during regular business hours July 17, according to executive Director Karen Waller.
The chamber is inviting shoppers to experience the businesses from Ohio 339 from Belpre to Barlow.
Retail businesses, restaurants, services, a grocery with fresh meats and deli, a bakery and a gift shop dot the route and adjacent area. Of particular interest is an Amish market off Route 339 at 8000 Route 676, Waterford.
Route 339 Belpre Area Chamber of Commerce member merchants and others are joining as partners to encourage shoppers to investigate the retail and service stops to be found in the local area.
Shoppers can watch for special "Shop Local" signs along the way. Retail merchants are gearing up to welcome existing customers and new shoppers to their locations.
The Route 339 shopping area extends from the Porterfield intersection of Route 50 west of Belpre to the intersection of Route 339 and Route 676.
Belpre Area Chamber members participating in the event or located in the area include Back to Basics Log Cabin (233 Hamrick Lane), Hendershot Performance Outdoor Store and Archery Pro Shop, Hickory Grove Country Store, WesBanco Barlow Branch, Citizens Bank Barlow Branch, Newlen Printing Company (125 Warrior Drive,) Village Cakery (901 Warrior Drive) and Palmer Square Market, 8000 State Route 676, Waterford.
