PARKERSBURG — A Napoli’s restaurant is being built in south Parkersburg with a new look, more room and menu additions.

Work has begun on constructing a new Napoli’s restaurant along West Virginia 95, to be situated behind the existing Napoli’s.

Construction on the new Napoli’s, which features pizza, pasta, subs and other menu items, is scheduled to be completed in November.

The restaurant will have the same Italian food with some new concepts, said Bill Waldeck of Wal-Bon Corp., co-owner of the business with his brother, Wayne.

The new Napoli’s, which will be in front of Moose Lodge 1118, will be larger than the existing Napoli’s, with about 4,000 square feet.

“It will have a very nice, modern look,” with stone, concrete siding and crown molding at the top,” said Bryan Shultz, vice president of operations for Wal-Bon. The restaurant’s exterior will be tan and brown with metal awnings.

The new restaurant will seat 94 people and the building will have energy-efficient features, Shultz said.

The present restaurant, which Wal-Bon purchased in the 1970s and renovated, will remain open while the new restaurant is being built. The existing Napoli’s at the W.Va. 95 site was formerly Jimbo’s Drive-in, Wayne Waldeck said.

The existing restaurant, with about 3,000 square feet, is showing its age, Waldeck said.

The new restaurant will have modern equipment and an updated, modern look, Waldeck said.

When construction of the new restaurant is finished in six months, the existing restaurant will be demolished to make room for parking.

BDT Architects and Interior Designers of Athens, Ohio, is the architect, and Parkersburg Roofing and Construction is the general contractor.
