On Feb. 19, 2024, Edward “Ray” Baker will celebrate his 90th birthday.

He is the son of the late James Archie Baker and Lena Alice Layfield Baker of Harrisville.

Ed has been married 63 years to Patricia Rose Fox Baker. He is the father of Larry Ray (Vickie) Baker of Grantsville and Cynthia Rose Baker of Washington, W.Va. He has one grandson, William Joseph Baker of Mechanicsville, Va.

Ed graduated from Harrisville High School with the class of 1953 and Glenville State College with the class of 1959. He served in the Korean War as a staff sergeant. He worked in various teaching positions at Harrisville High School and Wood County Schools and later at E.I. DuPont de Nemours Inc.

He is a member of South Parkersburg Baptist Church and enjoys various church activities, family, friends and gardening.
