Jerry and Linda Smith will be celebrating 60 years of marriage on September 17. They were married September 17, 1965, by the Reverend Carol McCouley at the Pleasant Hill Church in Calhoun County. Jerry is the son of the late Conda and Goldie Smith, and Linda is the daughter of the late Hall and Tressa Francis. They have one daughter, Leah Carpenter of Mineral Wells, and two grandsons, Christopher of Parkersburg, and Justin of Mineral Wells. Jerry is a Vietnam Veteran having served all of 1967 as a certified aircraft welder and retired after 34 years at E. I. DuPont. Linda was a housewife. They both say it has been a great life together.
