The Rev. Don and Irene Newlon will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Feb. 4. They were married Feb. 4 at the parsonage of the late Rev. Frank Osborne in Harrisville, W.Va. Irene is the daughter of the late Burley and Ella Barker of Fonzo in the Smithville, W.Va., area. Don is son of the late Walter and Ola Chloe (Davis) Newlon of Lawford, W.Va. They are now retired and live in Ellenboro.
Irene has worked at the various garment factories in Ritchie County and spent time as a caregiver.
Don has worked in the oil fields, spent 21 years at the Quaker State Oil Refinery of St. Mary’s and has practiced ministry for over 30 years at United Methodist Churches.
Don and Irene are the parents of three children: Tammy Dodds of Harrisville, Pauline Adams of Parkersburg and Randy (Darlene) Newton of Virginia Beach, Va.
They have four grandchildren: Brent Dodds, Andrea Dodds, Jordan Adams and Brandon Newlon.
They have three great grandchildren: Jaelyan Shaffer, Parker Adams and Kenzi Adams.
