Kelly Lofty Yeager of Harrisville, W.Va., embarked on her final journey from Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg, W.Va., on Tuesday, June 13, 2017.
She was born Dec. 9, 1960, at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas, a daughter of Sandra Weekly Wheeler and John Joseph Lofty Jr.
She resided in Columbus, Ohio, and was employed in the hospitality industry, an occupation that well suited her. Her delight was hosting family and friends at gatherings in her home. She was happiest when traveling, making new friends and exploring this beautiful world. Her favorite place to visit was Germany, where she had resided a number of years. Her special joys were visiting beaches, museums and formal gardens. She appreciated and embraced all of nature.
Surviving are a sister, Tara Leigh Shackelford; stepfather, Bob Wheeler and wife Amy; an aunt, Mary Margaret Smith; an uncle, Charles Lofty; and numerous cousins; special friends, Thresa and Karen, who accompanied and supported her during treatments; a childhood friend, Karin Zentgraf of Germany; many Columbus friends; and her faithful four-legged companion, Louie Yeager.
Preceding her were her parents.
The family appreciates the care afforded our loved ones by Doctors Kelly Cawley and Clint Cline; staff at Strecker Medical Center, as well as the nursing staff, Oncology Department, CCMC.
There will be no service at the present time. A memorial service is planned at a later date.
