Blennerhassett Island to host vintage-style ‘base ball’ game
An 1860s-style baseball game will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday on Blennerhassett Island State Historic State Park.
The game will be against the Ohio Village Muffins, a group of enthusiasts who carry on the tradition of the sport as it was played in mid-nineteenth-century America. Baseball was two words, base ball, in that era.
The island is looking for players and spectators for the game.
Specific rules of dress for the players are required. The jersey top and hat will be loaned to the players.
