Playoff football roundup: South, Doddridge fall

Martinsburg 56, South 14

MARTINSBURG — Devin Forshey caught a pair of touchdowns, Parkersburg South had no answers for Martinsburg quarterback Koi Fagan in a 56-14 Class AAAA quarterfinal loss Friday night.

Fagan accounted for five total touchdowns — four on the ground — and the MHS defense forced five turnovers.

South finished the season 6-6, while the Bulldogs will take on Huntington next week in the semifinals.

Cameron 28, Doddridge County 13

CAMERON — Lyric Blake rushed for a touchdown and Brandon Davis had a 67-yard touchdown catch, but Doddridge County ultimately fell to Cameron 28-13 in Friday’s Class A state quarterfinals.

Klypsan Wallace led the Dragons with 93 yards on 29 carries. His 18-yard touchdown made it 6-0 early.

Salton Pettit added a pair of second-half touchdowns to put the game away for Cameron, which improved to 11-1 and will play either Tug Valley or Petersburg next week.

The Bulldogs finished the season 9-3.
