PARKERSBURG — St. Albans junior Ava Bentley was named the Mountain State Athletic Conference’s player of the year, Hurricane’s Meghan Stevens was honored as coach of the year and Parkersburg teammates Kylie Conley and Krista Durkin picked up second team honors.

The junior Conley, who carried a big stick and earned her nod as a pitcher, recorded six wins and 94 strikeouts in 101 2-3 innings of work. At the plate, the Big Red batted .483 and had a 1.117 slugging percentage thanks to five doubles, six triples and seven bombs. Conley also swiped six bags, had 34 runs-batted-in and walked 11 times while going down on strikes a dozen times.

Durkin, a sophomore first baseman, made the second unit thanks to her .361 average, six doubles, two triples, 11 RBIs and six stolen bases.

Parkersburg’s Abby Roberts and Lilly Boice were named special honorable mention All-MSAC.

The Big Reds’ Brynn Frye and Kendall Kimes were selected as honorable mention.
