Inside the Huddle event slated for Aug. 5
PARKERSBURG — The annual Inside the Huddle with Tony Caridi event is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. next Saturday, Aug. 5, at Buzzy Dils Park.
Tickets and tables are still available. Anyone interested in purchasing a ticket or sponsorship can contact Lynn Reins, chief executive officer of the Boys & Girls Club, at 304-485-6434 or lynnreins@bgcparkersburg.org.
The annual dinner is sponsored by Intrastate Insurance and will be catered once again by North End Tavern.
Caridi, the play-by-play announcer for Mountaineer Sports Network, will provide those in attendance with the inside scoop on West Virginia athletics, from previewing the upcoming football season to discussing the Bob Huggins situation.
It’s an event die-hard Mountaineer fans don’t want to miss.
There also will be a raffle and live auction where West Virginia apparel and gift cards to local restaurants will be given out, as well as the chance to appear on Caridi’s radio show.
Tickets to the event are $75 and include dinner and drinks. The money raised by the event provides unrestricted funds for the area of most need for the Boys & Girls Club to continue services.
“We not only love bringing folks together to hear all about what’s coming up with their beloved Mountaineers, but we also love that we can say thank you for supporting our mission and making it possible for us to serve hundreds of kids annually,” Reins said. “My favorite part of the event every year is sharing what their dollars helped us do since the last time we were together.”
The Boys & Girls Club of Parkersburg serves more than 1,000 youth every year.
It encourages academic achievement, develops character, provides sports and fitness activities, life skills training and supporting adult relationships, while offering fun to youth from 6 to 18.
The club offers youth development services after school from 3-8 p.m. Monday to Friday and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the summer. A school-year membership costs $20 per child.
