Parkersburg Post 15 on five-game winning streak

PARKERSBURG — Parkersburg Post 15 extended its winning streak to five games following a 12-5 victory Sunday afternoon inside City Park against South Charleston Post 94.

On Saturday, Post 15 manager Mike Goodwin’s club matched their season-high winning streak of four games following a doubleheader sweep of host Moundsville Post 3 at Brooke High School.

Andrew Manley fired a complete game two-hitter in the game one 6-1 triumph. The right-hander issued three walks and had eight strikeouts.

Brett Haskins went 3 for 4 and drove in a run, Drew Woofter had two hits with a double and two runs-batted-in while Dylan Holliday also knocked in a run. Nic Menarchek scored twice.

Josh Gribble got plenty of run support during a 10-0 game two win in five innings. Post 15 scored six runs in the second and four in the fourth.

Gribble didn’t walk a batter and finished with a three-hitter. He recorded three strikeouts.

Woofter was 3 for 3 with a double, a home run and two RBIs. Haskins was 2 for 3 with a triple and also knocked in two runs. Eli Reeves also had two hits, a double and one RBI. Caden Parker also knocked in a run for Post 15, which saw Gatlin Donohew and Colton Pepper (two steals) score twice apiece. Both Menarchek and Carter King singled, stole a base and scored a run.

Versus Post 94, Woofter worked 3 2-3 innings for the win in relief of the starter Haskins.

Menarchek (2 for 6, 2B, 3B, 2 RBIs), Haskins (3 for 6, 2B, 2 RBIs), Holliday (3 for 5, RBI), Izek Baldwin (2 for 3, 2B, 3 RBIs) and Cade Goode (1 for 4, 2 RBIs) led the Parkersburg (13-5) offense versus South Charleston.

Post 15 returns to action at 6 p.m. Tuesday with a game at Wheeling Post 1.
