BOYS BASKETBALL

Williamstown 59, Wirt 33

ELIZABETH — Williamstown, which led just 16-13 after one but 35-17 at the break, picked up another win after taking care of host Wirt County, 59-33.

Sam Cremeans went off for 25 points, Garrett hill had 11 while Baylor Haught and Xavier Caruthers chipped in eight markers apiece.

Nathan Murray led the 2-7 Tigers with 21 points.

Paden City 61, Wood County Christian 46

WILLIAMSTOWN — Joel Moore double-doubled with 31 points and 10 rebounds as Paden City defeated Wood County Christian 61-46 Tuesday.

PCHS improved to 6-2 and will play host to Meadow Bridge Saturday. Ty Cain added nine points and 10 boards while Brandon Hizer chipped in eight points.

Wood County Christian was paced by Tyler Lanham’s 20 points, while Michael Cline netted 16.

St. Marys 64, Ravenswood 49

ST. MARYS — Grant Barnhart tallied a game-high 25 points to lead St. Marys past Ravenswood 64-49 Tuesday.

The Blue Devils (5-2) also got 17 points and nine rebounds from Ben Long, while Barnhart grabbed six boards. Luke Webb chipped in seven points. They play host to Wirt County Thursday.

The Red Devils (5-4) were led by Matthew Carte’s 13 points. Colton Goodwin added 12 while Logan Alfred and Ashton Miller netted eight apiece.

Ritchie 55, Wahama 43

ELLENBORO — Graden McKinney bucketed a game-high 24 points and Ethan Haught added 11 more as host Ritchie County topped Wahama, 55-43.

The 3-4 Rebels also watched Haught go for 12 steals and six assists.

Sawyer VanMatre (13) and Ethan Gray (10) paced the White Falcon scoring attack.

Webster 71, Gilmer 64

GLENVILLE — Ean Hamric’s game-high 21 points werenát enough as Gilmer County dropped to 4-4 following a 71-64 setback to visiting Webster County.

Josh Lipscomb added 19 points, Avery Chapman nine, Garrett Butler eight and Ty Wellings seven in the setback.

Webster was led in point-production by Rye Gadd (17), Gage Groggs (11) and Connor Bell (10).

South Harrison 57, Roane 44

SPENCER — Brayden Miller had a game-high 16 points, but host Roane County could overcome a 25-7 deficit after one as South Harrison left town with a 57-44 triumph.

Austin Peck went for 14 points for the Hawks, who got 13 points apiece from Lucas Elliott and Logan Langford.

Blake Murray added nine points and Luke Boggs eight for the Raiders (3-6).

Braxton 89, Calhoun 44

SUTTON — Calhoun County scored its season high in points, but it wasn’t nearly enough as host Braxton County rolled to an 89-44 victory.

Jett Cogar (20 points), Aidan Singleton (19) and William Forbush, who finished with 14 points, six boards and four assists, did the heavy lifting for the Eagles, who improved to 5-3 and welcomes Gilmer County to town Thursday.

The 0-5 Red Devils, who received four points along with game-highs of 11 rebounds and four steals from Gage Bunner, trailed 28-9 after one.

CCHS, which plays host Thursday to Clay County, received 11 points, three assists and two blocks from Levi Walker. Levi Richards added nine counters and Levi M. Morris eight in the setback.

GIRLS

Ripley 41, Point Pleasant 29

RIPLEY — McKennan Hall’s 19 points were enough to help lead Ripley past visiting Point Pleasant, 41-29.

McKenna Young paced the Big Blacks in scoring with a baker’s dozen.

Lauren Roush added seven points, Sophia Nichols had six and Hall grabbed nine boards for the victors.
