Conservatives aren't racist, but there is a problem

Kendall says most conservatives aren’t racist. That’s true, in my experience. Almost all my friends are conservative. I have some friends who express racist attitudes, but those same friends don’t espouse small-government conservative principles. I do see a problem with the conservative media. In their eagerness to advance their cause, they often don’t use wisdom when they promote someone. Case in point: Cliven Bundy.

"Radicalism at its best....we don't care about the louse Bundy."

Permit me to direct you toward the paragraph under this topic's title, "Case in point: Cliven Bundy."

This whole topic is about Bundy and what it means for the Conservative movement in raising people like him up before knowing enough about him.

I always wondered who would take Lily's place. Voila !!! It's Kendall. Radicalism at its best.

Kendall we don't care about the louse Bundy. But your view is weird and strange. Did he kill anyone? Did he steal from the poor? And that grazing fee baloney won't work here. Did he break up someone's marriage and hurt children involved? What did he do to make you so much better? Sinless Kendall haha

Diversity of opinion is the greatest threat to liberals. Especially on this forum.

"just curious does that apply to everyone?"

It should yes, but the bad behavior of others does not dismiss the bad behavior of Bundy. No more than bringing up Bush's wrongs dismisses Obama's wrongs.

"At least Bundy works.."

I don't care if the man can crap rainbows and donates hundreds of thousands to the NAACP, if he is doing something wrong...he is doing something wrong.

Pointing out the errors in others does not make what he is doing right.

And Bundy isn't providing...he is selling food to make a profit. Nothing at all wrong with making a living but let's not imply he is doing this work solely out of the kindness of his heart.

At least Bundy works, abd provides food for us. That is better and more self satisfying than laying around stoned or drunk and waiting for the next freedom from work style handout.

"So the Feds really need to send out the armed storm troopers to bring down a rancher."

They didn't but by the turn out of crazed militia types, you would think they did.

"Maybe obama wants more money so he can again give it to more bankrupt greenies."

Why do you think President Obama had anything to do with Bundy? He is the head of the Executive Branch and doesn't micromanage every single incident that involves the Federal Govt.

We really should worry about one rancher not paying grazing fees. Every day we read about billions of dollars that are wasted, lost, and stolen. And the perpetrators get bonuses. So the Feds really need to send out the armed storm troopers to bring down a rancher. Maybe obama wants more money so he can again give it to more bankrupt greenies. Again.

Exactly what would you call it when a new organization takes a little known rancher with no political ties and make him into a major news story? What do you call it when Republican Representatives rally on a little known rancher's behalf? What would you call it when conservative leaning militia types are willing to defend a little known rancher?

If that's not propping that little known rancher up...what the heck do you call it?

Some of the goons on Fox's The Five also had Bundy on a political pedestal before he got off topic with the New York Times. Beckle wasn't too smug when some of the others had to backtrack.

I wish I can remember where I saw it, maybe The Five...Andrea I think, but she made it clear there are a few things that white male Republicans should just stay away from. One is reproductive rigths of women and the other is race. In most cases, the Republican in politics that talks on these topics will either step over their own feet or seem like thay are pandering to a specific group.

Actually, Tiredofit, I'd say some--Sean Hannity in particular--did put Bundy on a pedestal. Then, when they found out more about him, they were forced to back away from him. That's the problem to which the title of this thread refers.

"but there is a problem"

How's that Tired..happy now?

But you'll note that the "problem" doesn't revolve around illegal immigrants but specifically has to do with the conservative side of politics putting people up on pedestals that they probably shouldn't.

Ith" it's just a desperate attempt to change the subject, and try to link this man's beliefs to all conservatives."

I refer you to the title of this thread, Tiredofit. It states flatly, "Conservatives are not racist..."

Your imagination is running away again.

"even though he has every right to his beliefs"

Of course he does, just as everyone has the right to associate with a racist or not. Most politicians don't want to which is their right.

"This administration very selectively enforces laws."

I agree but I don't know an administration that wasn't selective.

"Our security is not important to obama and Holder."

I disagree. Unless I am mistaken, issues related to illegal immigration isn't any worse than it was 10 years ago. In fact, due to the recession, the flow of illegal immigrants have went down.

"One rancher and his cattle do not affect us,"

I disagree, by not paying the fees, he is in fact screwing the American public from their funds.

"We have never before had a president and justice Dept who picked and chose which laws to enforce."

Hmm, I think the Reagan administration did that exact thing. That's how Amnesty came about.

This administration very selectively enforces laws. Border control should be defended by them, but is not. Our security is not important to obama and Holder. One rancher and his cattle do not affect us, but obama acts according to his own desires.

We have never before had a president and justice Dept who picked and chose which laws to enforce.

"One man's patriot is another man's traitor."

Yep, Benedict Arnold, Jefferson Davis and Cliven Bundy have that in common. They are all patriots to somebody.

" It ties together two of their favorite targets guns and resisting big govt. They don't like either."

You do like to guess a lot don't you? It also seems like you want to make this about everything but the subject itself.

Personally, I like guns fine. But like the Federal agents doing their jobs, I wouldn't like it if law breakers were pointing them at me.

I have no problems with citizens resiting Govt but this may come as a shock to you Tired but citizens have a way of resisting and it's called an election. The form of resisting you are promoting is called anarchy. Are you becoming a Libertarian?

Kendall78

"Well Maybe the feds can enforce immigration law with such zeal.."

Maybe you shouldn't try the ol bait and switch tactic. Immigration and the law Bundy broke are not the same thing.

"I was glad the armed feds gave up their armed actions before they committed another Waco with deaths."

Yeah, it was nice that the Feds were stopped from executing the law because of militia-like idiots pointing their weapons at them. It was very wise because soon they will deal with Bundy as the law intended.

I agree, Ithink. I'm glad the Feds used good judgment. Bundy and his gun-toting henchmen didn't.
