Thankfully, the anti-science propaganda campaign surrounding man-made climate change seems to have lost some of its effect.

Are you seeing storm clouds on the horizon? Two recent studies suggest that the latest anti-science campaign is following its forerunners--the propaganda campaigns attempting to refute science that tobacco causes cancer, that CFC's caused the hole in the ozone layer, and so on—into oblivion. Global warming denial seems to have climbed to a peak in 2010, and global warming acceptance is now climbing. This bodes well for rational public policy.

" The sun, volcanoes, earthquakes and other events not controlled by man, are the forces with real power."

Freaking lol!

First thanks for stating the obvious.

Second. So it is wrong when I say that mankind has a cumulative effect on the planet will live on? We in other words are a force of nature ourselves.

"The earth had greater climate change before coal was discovered than now."

Yea! Soooooooooo!

A lot of those past climate shifts lead to mass extinctions.

Oh wait how did those happen when the earth is only 6000 years old?

If the science you deny says something like the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event which was 66 million years ago took place then why are you citing it....your Bible says that didn't happen since the earth is less than 10,000 years old!

"You have no proof that man is causing the climate to change, none zero zip"

So...all that carbon based power...billions of tons of the carbon that was in the ground...isn't in the air?

Light weight in IQ liberal followers don't think. They follow the newest progressive fad. Our schools, government, and even our military are being converted to socialist la la land.

The earth had greater climate change before coal was discovered than now. The sun, volcanoes, earth quakes and other events not controlled by man, are the forces with real power.

But just keep those tax dollars rolling to the crooks. Myth, harry, and Kendall will vouch for them.

"You have no proof that man is causing the climate to change, none zero zip"

So when humanity uses a carbon based power source and the emissions from said source (which includes Co2. Gasp! I know!) it just goes up and does nothing?

I mean acid rain? Thats naturally occurring right?

"You have no proof that man is causing the climate to change, none zero zip"

So carbon dioxide is not a heat trapping gas?

OMG! Ha! You just proved all my points about you!

Here's a point I would like you to explain where its is wrong.

Given the current population of humans and the way in which they consume energy....can it not be said that mankind has made itself into a force of nature?

If you are honestly on here to debate these issues then you would honestly answer questions. You would honestly point out why you think I am wrong. You would honestly take the points I make and show me where they are wrong.

You will not do that tiredofit!

You also will not look at what we are saying and acknowledge the truth in what we say.

That being said all you have at stake in this debate is throw bombs and seek to deflect the discussion from scientific research by stoking political fears.

You are firmly a part of the people that Harry mentioned.

"They want us to view the issue as a struggle between opposing ideological camps."

Also for the record. Saying man has "control" over the world climate is a loaded way of defining what is going on.

Control denotes the ability to affect outcomes in either direction.

Man does not have control of the climate.

Taking billions of tons of carbon from the ground..using it..then depositing that carbon into the atmosphere has an effect.

Its is the cumulative effect of mankind going about its business that is changing the climate.

Why is that so hard to understand?

Or do you understand and are just in the business of fear mongering about a socialist agenda that is constantly spewed about in rightwing circles?

Is it the drama of "taking your country back from the evil socialist left" that forms your opinions?

It must be!

Here we go again! LOL!

Lets see you put out your "reasoning" on the issue of climate change. Absolutely nothing you say sticks..it gets thwarted with REASON and....jeepers creepers.

Hey Harry you're a fraud!

What a laughable deflection.

Tiredofit writes,

“The two are inseparable as it IS a political agenada, not a scientific discussion.”

Tiredofit’s statement accurately describes the Counter Climate Change Movement’s campaign to belittle science. They seek to deflect the discussion from scientific research by stoking political fears.

They don’t want us to view the issue like the chairman of Exxon-Mobile views it—as “an engineering problem with an engineering solution.” They want us to view the issue as a struggle between opposing ideological camps.

And this explains many of the responses we see here. Posters disparage the science and engineering. They won’t even look at the scientific evidence. Instead, they want us to adopt their own paranoid fears.

Tiredofit admits that he sees it as a political problem. That’s why he discredits the science.

It’s not a political problem. It’s an engineering problem with an engineering solution.

"There is no proof that man has any such influence over climate."

Why do you think that? Why do you think that the dominant species on the planet that dumps tons of chemicals in the air, able to effect the ecosystem of the entire ocean and create the power of a star by splitting the atom has no effect upon the climate?

Our planet has a carbon cycle. Only thing is we are putting more into the system than what the system can take out.

That has consequences.

The experiment on the Bill Nye video simply shows what all the carbon can do once it is in the atmosphere.

I would really like to hear why that experiment is wrong in what it shows.

Am I to believe that if I performed that experiment something totally different would happen? Am I to believe that no difference in the temperature between the two jars would be observed?

If that is true either explain or point me in the direction of the information that informed you of the "real" nature of that experiment.

"Did you notice it was a very low year for tornadoes this year?"

And how is that evidence that climate change isn't occurring? Climate is more than weather patterns in the middle of the US.

"And what had your imbecile scientists predicted?"

I have no scientists...imbicile or otherwise.

You know if one goes back and digs into the history of this area and the areas like it that produce coal.

Take a long hard look in particular at the railroads the built their empires by hauling coal.

For a very long time there have been mile long trains pulling coal out of just our mountains.

There are pictures of the coal docks in Roanoke Virginia with storage yards filled to the gills with full coal hoppers.

The carbon content of coal runs from 60+ to 91.5% in the case of Anthracite.

Once used all that carbon goes into the atmosphere where it for the most part stays.

That is a sh!t ton of carbon...just from coal!

It doesn't take an intelligent person to figure out dropping an egg with crack it.

Pulling all of that carbon out the ground and putting it into the atmosphere has consequences.

"Professor admits faking AIDS vaccine to get $19M in grants"

Whether it is medical research, or climate research, just follow the money. What a corrupt bunch of snakes come out of our supposedly schools of learning these days. I wouldn't believe a climate scientist unless I knew enough about him to know he is honest.I know plenty of crooked ones have been exposed.

Did you notice it was a very low year for tornadoes this year? And what had your imbecile scientists predicted?

It's only political if you allow it to be so. Ignore the politics and focus on the science the best you can.

"the recent ice age"

I find it interesting that you mention this since one of the possible causes of the Little Ice Age (who knows or really cares if you were talking about it) was due to a volcano throwing up material into the atmosphere.

Another possibly cause is the altered change in the ocean flow due to the Medieval Warm Trend.

So while these causes were natural, mankind can assist in creating these causes again. Climate is complex but to ignore that we are in fact a contributor to it is foolish and dangerous.
