Thankfully, the anti-science propaganda campaign surrounding man-made climate change seems to have lost some of its effect.

Are you seeing storm clouds on the horizon? Two recent studies suggest that the latest anti-science campaign is following its forerunners--the propaganda campaigns attempting to refute science that tobacco causes cancer, that CFC's caused the hole in the ozone layer, and so on—into oblivion. Global warming denial seems to have climbed to a peak in 2010, and global warming acceptance is now climbing. This bodes well for rational public policy.

"Sorry Kendell the only way to quantify science is by math...Period."

No it's not. Math is a tool of science.

"Oh geez lack of hurricanes is climate change, cold weather is global warming,"

What is one of the requirements of an Atlantic Hurricane? Warm waters yes? But if the Gulf Stream's flow is altered by the melting of the Arctic Ice caps, does it not stand to reason that could effect hurricanes?

Regional cold weather can be an effect from global factors as overall warming. Is it not reasonable that the jet streams that goes across the world and effect weather patterns would be effected by increase temps?

"If co2 caused the to warm then one would expect warming over the last 16 years.."

Your knowledge on climate change is quite limited isn't it Tired? No one, not one person, has put the CO2 levels as the one and only factor for climate change.

You also seem to have a mental block when it comes to the years prior to 17 years ago and back. You do realize that the study of climate change and global warming is older than 2 decades right?

Like Heartland honcho Joe Bast said, “…the scientific debate is of enormous frustration for us.”

Ithink,

The allocation of scarce water resources has nothing to do with causing a drought. A drought happen when little or no precipitation occurs.

You proved my point, Tiredofit. Because you can't address the points I made, you get frustrated and start with the name-calling.

California's drought is caused by the bleeding hearts bleeding over a pathetic "minnow". If only we humans could be that important.

Those who claim there has been no warming in 16 years either don't use elementary statistical analysis.

Politifact rated Patrick Moore’s statement that “the earth has not warmed in 17 years” and found it “mostly false.”

ww w.politifact.co m/punditfact/statements/2014/mar/17/patrick-moore/climate-change-skeptic-patrick-moore-says-earth-ha/

For at least 3 reasons, Tiredofit’s statement isn’t true. First, 1998 was an outlier year with a strong El Nino. In discussing trends, statisticians who want to be truthful don’t pick outliers for the baseline. Second, both 2005 and 2010 were warmer than 1998. Third, the first decade of the 20th century was the warmest on record.

Those who feel frustrated in arguments often employ pejoratives like “imbecile” and “short bus” and “fool.” Frankly, it reveals more about their characters than the characters of those whom they disparage.

"So you admit you don't have the first clue and no one can say what will happen yet you want action????"

Never admitted anything.

I don't want action. There's nothing we can do about it in my opinion except be flexible and adapt accordingly.

It's a nice day. Go out and enjoy it before the weather changes to rain, or snow, or not. Reduction of co2 will inherently cause an upward shift in the cost of energy across the spectrum. This increased cot will result in reduction of power used because people that are not subsidized by the government will use less. The poor folk won't change their usage as the taxpayer helps with their bills, the rich won't use less because they can afford to pay. But, once again, we in the middle will be squeezed by the increase and tough decisions we will have to make. Unless you are not rich or poor you don't have a dog in this hunt. Go out and breath some fresh air before your neighbor exhales and pollutes some more.

Two decades ago the northern ice cap was a lot more widespread.

So much so that no routes were being looked at as possible seasonal shipping routes for commerce.

So much so that neither the USA or Russia seen it as necessary to start laying claim to areas for resource extraction under the waters the normally would have had ice flows over it.

Yep no warming in two decades.

Then why is the ice thinning out and routes opening up?
