Thankfully, the anti-science propaganda campaign surrounding man-made climate change seems to have lost some of its effect.

Are you seeing storm clouds on the horizon? Two recent studies suggest that the latest anti-science campaign is following its forerunners--the propaganda campaigns attempting to refute science that tobacco causes cancer, that CFC's caused the hole in the ozone layer, and so on—into oblivion. Global warming denial seems to have climbed to a peak in 2010, and global warming acceptance is now climbing. This bodes well for rational public policy.

Reports that 2014 was the “hottest” year on record feed the insatiable appetite the public has for definitive, alarming headlines. It doesn’t matter that even in the thermometer record, 2014 wasn’t the warmest within the margin of error. Who wants to bother with “margin of error”? Journalists went into journalism so they wouldn’t have to deal with such technical mumbo-jumbo. I said this six weeks ago, as did others, but no one cares unless a mainstream news source stumbles upon it and is objective enough to report it.

Oh if weather isn't climate why are we pointing out record cold days?

I see stillhere still confuses climate and weather. I would have thought he would figure out the difference by now.

Climate scientist James Church estimated that the earth absorbs the energy of four Hiroshima atomic bombs each second.

The oceans are absorbing 90% of that extra heat.

Maybe that’s not such a bad thing. Suppose we could engineer a way to USE that energy instead of waiting for it to disrupt the climate. If we set our minds to finding solutions, we might find that global warming could be a good thing.

If we refuse to deal with global warming, it will harm us. But if we deal with it, we might find a way for global warming to help us. After all, heat is energy, and we need energy.

Like Rex Tillerson, the CEO of Exxon-Mobile, said, It's “an engineering problem with an engineering solution.”

since even the major oil companies have concluded that global warming science is beyond dispute, all serious people have moved on to adapting to a changing world.

54% of conservative Republicans “support regulating CO2 as a pollutant.”

The American Petroleum Institute says global warming threatens our economy.

The US military says global warming threatens our national security.

How will we address this threat to our economy and national security? Will we step up and take personal responsibility for our carbon emissions? Or will we deny the problem and force the government to act, thereby losing more of our freedoms?

I vote for taking personal responsibility and keeping government out of it.
