Kerry W. Bowen, 69, of Vienna, W.Va., departed this life July 22, 2014, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
He was born in Sistersville, W.Va., a son of the late Virginia (Haught) Freeland.
He was a computer programmer and retired from Community Action. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church where he formerly served as treasurer. Despite a 30-year battle with Rheumatoid Arthritis, he still enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, reading, photography, music, nature, antique car shows, and he especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Cara (Fowle) Bowen; son, Mike Bowen (Lori) of Huntington, W.Va.; daughter, Terri McCoy (Bill) of Sistersville, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Alaina, Rachel and Devann McCoy and Andrew and Charlotte Bowen; brother, Tom Bowen; and sister, Suzanne Heinlein.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Aug. 2 at Trinity Episcopal Church, Parkersburg, W.Va., with The Revs. Larry Jackson and Jack Neilson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service.
Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Trinity Episcopal Church Memorial Fund.
