Charles D. Hopkins, 63, of Parkersburg, W.Va., died July 25, 2014, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
He was born in Wood County, a son of the late Ireland J. and Rada (Metheney) Hopkins.
He was a United States Army veteran. He was a hard worker and held various jobs. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, antiquing and collectables.
He is survived by his daughter, Samantha D. Hopkins (fiance Max Cade) of Washington, W.Va.; granddaughter, Mackenzie Cade; soon-to-be-born granddaughter, Charlee Cade; two nephews, Gary and Michael Smith; fiancee, Julia A. Mason; and close friends, Doug White and Kathy Anthony.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard J. Hopkins; and sister, Mary Anne Smith-Walker.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkesburg. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery South with military rights by American Legion Post 15. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
