DAVISVILLE - Representatives from the Polymer Alliance Zone will attend the PLASTEC East Trade Show Tuesday through Thursday in New York City.
"This trade show will draw over 20,000 plastic industry representatives from around the world. Our mission is to meet with plastic industry companies, vendors and suppliers to let them know the benefits of establishing operations in West Virginia or purchasing products from West Virginia polymer companies," said Karen Facemyer, president of the Polymer Alliance. "At the same time, we'll be collecting information on the latest products and tools for the industry to bring back for the benefit of our members."
Facemyer said participating in these events will yield results.
"Several international companies have visited West Virginia as a direct result of our participation in these types of events," Facemyer said. "Our members who participate in the PAZ booth typically see increased sales from their involvement with this and similar events."
Plastics-related companies and state and local development agencies will join Polymer Alliance at the show.
Among those are West Virginia Secretary of Commerce Keith Burdette and the West Virginia Division of Commerce and Development Office.
The delegation will base its outreach efforts from the West Virginia booth, No. 521.
The Polymer Alliance is an economic development organization that works to market the plastics industry in West Virginia and recruit plastic-related companies to locate in the state.
