MARIETTA - The Mid-Ohio Valley Safety Council will meet 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. May 21 at the Marietta Shrine Club, 249 Pennsylvania Ave.
Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon.
The topic for this month is "The Opiate Epidemic of Emergency Services" with featured speakers Dan Breece, medical director of the Marietta Memorial Hospital Emergency Department, and Paige Smith, director of emergency services. The meeting is sponsored by the Washington County Career Center.
The cost of the meeting is $15 for safety council members (includes lunch). Membership is open to representatives of business and industry in the Mid-Ohio Valley interested in improving safety awareness in the work place.
The Mid-Ohio Valley Safety Council is a program of the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce co-sponsored by the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation Division of Safety and Hygiene. Companies can earn up to 4 percent rebate on their workers compensation premium through participation in the safety council.
